 
Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has dismissed recent comments by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, regarding President Bola Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 election.
Matawalle, in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Ministry of Defence, Henshaw Ogubike, stated that Lawal and his associates would be surprised by the overwhelming support Tinubu would receive from the North in 2027.
