The North Eastern Youths Advocacy for Peace and Development (NEYAPAD) has congratulated Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho on the occasion of his appointment as the managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The group in a statement issued in Abuja co-signed by its Coordinator Amb. Salahuddeen Shuaibu Planner and the Executive Director Peace Resolution, Reconciliation and Humanitarian Service Hon. Tukura Kwayi described the new appointee as a seasoned maritime management expert, experienced public official, and an accomplished Nigerian who has traveled across the length and breadth of Nigeria's maritime system.
The group said Dr. Dantsoho’s appointment to serve as the head of Nigerian maritime sector is a vote of confidence and a bold statement on his credentials as a proud son of the Northeast who has discharged himself adequately in every assignment he has been privileged to handle.
The youth organization recalls with nostalgia some of the exploits of Dr. Dantsoho when he held sway at the Nigerian Ports Authority where he served as Assistant General Manager; Technical Assistant to the Managing Director; Port Manager, Onne Port; and Principal Manager, Tariff & Billing. Dantsoho led several initiatives that were geared towards sustaining the country's maritime administration.
The group equally thanked President Tinubu for finding Dr. Dantsoho worthy of the role saying his selection underscores his talent-hunting skills and are optimistic that the appointee will not disappoint in his new role.
They equally thanked the Nigerian leader for beaming his searchlights on the Northeast to harness and exploit potentials  in both human capital and natural resources haven considered Dantsoho as the first north easterner to head the Nigerian Ports Authority.Â
The group equally called on the president to continue to look into the north eastern region as the Boko haram ravaged region is blessed with many talents that if properly harnessed and efficiently used will bring an end to the issues of insurgency in the region.Â
The group also commend and congratulates the president as well as all Nigerians over the recent Supreme Court victory on local government autonomy saying this is a win for the Nigerian masses and a foundation for poverty and hunger eradication in the country.
